First, I installed WorldBorder. This mod creates a defined outside border for the whole world to keep players from going past that point. Don't let this make you think you are restricted in a small place! I've made the starting sizes fairly big. This mod is to keep those few players that like to fly off into one direction for ever. It balloons our world size on the server (we only have so much space) and serves little purpose.
The Nether is restricted to 500 blocks out from the portal in every direction. That is 1000 blocks by 1000 blocks. That is quite huge!
The regular world is restricted to 2500 blocks from 0,0. That is 5000 by 5000 blocks! That is a LONG way for now.
The End is not restricted.
When you reach the outer border, you will be pushed back 3 blocks and notified with a message.
If you find these limits restricting and want to go farther, let me know!
Secondly, I installed DynMap. This is going to be an AWESOME addition to our server! This is a mapping mod that shows a scaled down, high-resolution map our our world on a web page. This map is updated as you build stuff and shown directly on the map! Also, when players are logged on, it shows their position and their chat text in a speech bubble over their head. While on this web page, you can actually chat with in game players from this web page. Neat huh?
When you open the map, you will be taken to the flat view of our world. You can zoom in and out at pleasure. On the right side of the screen, you will see a little < arrow. Click it to open the menu. You will see world, world_nether and world_the_end. World is our world. World_nether is the Nether, duh. And obviously, world_the_end is The End.
For world, there are 3 icons. The first icon on the left is a link to the flat map. The second icon will take you to what is called the isometric map which is like a side view showing much detail. This is the best view of our world. The 3rd icon will take you to a map of our cave system. It's quite confusing and not very useful.
For world_nether and world_the_end, there are 2 icons. The first icon on the left is a link to the flat map. The second icon will take you to the isometric map showing great detail. It is now very useful however as the Nether is so crazy anyway.
As a side note, the red box around the map is the border from the WorldBorder map mod as explained above in the first section.
TELL ME how to get to the map!!!!! Oh ya. To get to the map, open any browser and type in the same 12 digit server address number into the address bar of the browser and add :8123 to the very end of it without any spaces. It should look like this ###.###.###.###:8123 I'm NOT going to give you this number on the blog as that will be a sure way to get hacked or spammed. Enjoy!
